Strategic Advice

Why Early Registration is Essential in Nigeria

1. Severe Centre Scarcity

Test centres in Lagos (Lekki, VI, Ikeja) and Abuja fill up quickly. Waiting until the deadline often forces students to travel to other states like Oyo or Rivers.

2. Avoid $34 Late Fees

Late registration adds $34 USD (approx. ₦55,000 NGN) to your total expense. Registering on time keeps your total cost at the baseline $111 USD.

3. College Early Decision Deadlines

Students applying for US Early Action (EA) or Early Decision (ED) in November must take the SAT by October at the very latest to meet application cutoff dates.

Deadlines FAQ

Can I register for the SAT after the regular deadline has passed?

Yes, during the Late Registration window (usually up to 10–14 days before test day). However, the College Board assesses an extra $34 late fee, and Nigerian test centres frequently run out of seats by this time.

How far in advance should Nigerian students register for the SAT?

We strongly recommend registering 6 to 8 weeks before your target test date. High-demand test centres in Lagos (Victoria Island, Lekki, Ikeja) and Abuja often fill to capacity months in advance.

What is the device loan request deadline for Nigerian students?

If you do not have an approved laptop/iPad and need to request a borrowed testing device from the College Board, you must submit your request at least 30 days before the test date.
